Individual lies form a system
of lies when an accumulation of those lies dominates a given society. Once
a specific lie is institutionalized, when it becomes the basis for policy
decisions, for legislation and law enforcement, it advances the formation
of a system of lies. The more lies are being elevated in this way the
closer we get to a system where lies dominate. If this continues the next
and final phase leads to a society, where lies rule, and that means
godless totalitarian rule. Nazi and Communist societies, both socialists,
were and are such societies. Lies are being enforced with the power of
government and opposition becomes a criminal act. There is no free speech
and no right to bear arms. Totalitarian societies are the result of lies
and not of economic deprivation. The liar, however, and that title
includes just about everybody, is concerned with him- or herself and
doesn't notice the gradual transformation of the society he lives in from
freedom to slavery. He doesn't do anything to reverse the trend.
For Christians: according to St. John,
chapter 8, verses 44/5 Jesus defined before a Jewish audience, who were
eager to kill him, the founder and father of the lie: "Your father is
the devil, and what you are wanting to do is what your father longs to do.
He always was a murderer, and has never dealt with the truth, since the
truth will have nothing to do with him. Whenever he tells a lie, he speaks
in character, for he is a liar and the father of lies." Jesus makes
no difference between a small and a big lie, because any lie is an insult
to God. Those "Christians" who think that their small lies don't
matter, better think again, and especially if they furthermore apply their
philosophy to the democratic process and vote known liars into public
office. They will have no part in the kingdom of God because they are
engaged in preparing the rule of their father, the father of all lies.
German philosopher Karl Jaspers defined:
"One may lie by language by deliberately asserting something which is
false. It means lying to others but not to oneself, one is misusing
language. But a further step is also possible, by lying the lie may reach
a stage in which a person finally believes his own lies so that the
distinction between truth and falsehood is lost… Untruth may range from
the lie which is immediately recognizable as such to a total, inextricable
system of lies…Truth and fiction are combined in such a way that nothing
good arises, but the radical lie itself becomes reality."
In his1996 published book Death of Reality,
author Lawrence Dawson described the "systematic denial of
reality" as a combination of moral decadence and cultural anarchy.
"The very idea of reality has become 'untenable' in our current
society. People have begun to live in pink-clouds and fantasies, a state,
which they neither recognize nor can associate with any reason or
cause." He points out that the mainstream "media were censoring
facts to establish 'an alternative perception of reality', which favored
an ideological clientele", using their monopoly to distort reality,
ending up in truth being nonexistent. "A corrupt political ideology
has been melded to an equally corrupt philosophy of language to give an
historically unprecedented power to the lie."
I have a chapter "Lies" in my book Moral
Meltdown for
those interested in the whole dimension of the theme. For the purpose of
this article I add a few national and international lies to underline my
statement of a system of lies:
- German Bundestag (Parliament) by request
from the opposition formed a "Lie-Committee" to investigate the
fraudulent argumentation of the government parties in the September 2002
elections. Chancellor Schroeder, who also activated anti-American
resentment to get the necessary votes for re-election, as well as finance
minister Eichel, are both accused of having lied to the population
regarding the desperate financial situation of Germany. The truth could
have spoiled their bid for power. Immediately after election victory the
grisly picture emerged. Five weeks before election date, for instance,
Schroeder had promised "we do not have the intention to raise taxes.
I speak for the government and my [socialist] party." Taxes, however,
were substantially raised right after he had been safely installed in
office. There are seven more documented cases of similar lies to the
population.
- The whole of South Africa was shaken right
after Thabo Mbeki was installed as president, when the entire press of the
country condemned his silence with regards to the "lie scandal".
The prime minister of the Mpumalanga province, Ndaweni Mahlangu, had
re-appointed a man as finance minister in spite of his admittance to the
press that this man had lied publicly. Political lies, said Mahlangu, are
"not really serious, they are accepted worldwide and quite
common". After all, he argued, a lie had not been the end of Bill
Clinton. Mahlangu followed the argument of an American schoolboy who, when
caught lying, defended himself, "when the president is allowed to lie
what is the fuss about my lie?"
- It doesn't reach the level of impeachment!
Really? If the first law enforcement officer of the nation breaks the law
and lies to the nation? Dan Rather adding to the confusion said to Bill
O'Reilly on Fox News May 15, 01 that he considered President Clinton to be
an honest person, "…I think you can be an honest person and lie
about any number of things." Is that the policy of political news
casting by CBS? Who would continue looking at it?
- Lying for Votes. The Middle American News
reported that Senator John McCain by own admission is a liar: "I
feared that if I answered honestly, I could not win the South Carolina
primary." So he answered a question with a lie and lost the primary
anyway. Everybody knows that he is not the only such liar. Political
deception is the principal pillar of the system of lies in the world.
- The lie is at the heart of the abortion
movement. That a woman has a right to her body is the first lie. Neither
has a man.. The body of any person is a temple of the Holy Spirit. The
fetus is not part of the women's body. From conception, when life begins,
the fetus has a separate life. It is a lie that life begins at birth only.
No Supreme Court or any court has the right to take the place of God, to
alter the constitution and dispose of human life without due process.
Bernard Nathanson, one of the principal architects and strategists of the
abortion movement in the United States told the Whistleblowers Magazine in
December 2002, how he, Lawrence Lader and Betty Friedan cynically invented
emotionally compelling slogans, like "Women must have control over
their own bodies", "freedom of choice - a basic American
right" and others and fabricated the results of fictional polls to
convince the media and the population of the need to legal abortion. This
way they proclaimed at the end of the sixties, that 60% of Americans were
in favor of permissive abortion, and that every year 1 million illegal
abortions took place. In reality it were close to 100.000. They said, that
every year 10.000 women were dying from illegal abortions while the
correct figure was 200-250. "Repeating the big lie often enough
convinces the public," Nathahan stated, who himself had performed
5000 abortion with his own hands but then changed profoundly. According to
a story by Tom Neven in the January 2003 edition of Focus on the Family
with Dr. James Dobson Norma McCorvey, the Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade, and
Sandra Cano, the Mary Doe of Doe v. Bolton, are now trying to take their
cases back to the Supreme Court to have the ruling reversed. The two women
also changed profoundly, became pro-life and realized, that they had been
tools of clever lawyers and that the Supreme Court was lied to.
- Separation of Church and state. It is an
impertinent lie. There is no such provision in the Constitution. It is a
pretense to hide what in reality is a Nazi programme, to separate God and
society and get God's uncomfortable commandments out of the way. I
experienced that campaign in Nazi Germany and I know what I see in America
now. The oath of office contained in the original Constitution of
Pennsylvania stated, "each member [of the legislature], before he
takes his seat, shall make…the following declaration…'I do believe in
one God, the Creator and Governour of the Universe, the Rewarder of the
good and the Punisher of the wicked, and I do acknowledge the Scriptures
of the Old and New Testament to be given by Divine Inspiration.'- "
President Thomas Jefferson asked Congress to ratify a treaty with the
Kaskaskia Indians on December 3, 1803. In this request he stated
"Whereas the greater part of said tribe have been baptized…into the
Catholic Church, to which they are much attached, the United States will
give annually, for seven years, one hundred dollars toward the support of
the priest…who will… perform the duties of his office, and instruct as
many…children as possible. The United States will further give the sum
of three hundred dollars to assist…in the erection of a church." -
James Madison, chief architect of the Constitution & 4th President of
the US explained: "We have staked the whole future of American
civilization not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked
the future of all our institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self
government, on the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, and
to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten
Commandments of God." These are the same commandments, which the
enemies of a free America attempt to eliminate in schools and all public
areas.
- John Witherspoon stated:
"A republic must either preserve its virtue or lose its liberty…whoever
is an avowed enemy of God, I scruple not to call him an enemy of his
country." That is also my position.
There is a myriad of other examples. Some of
them I might bring in my next article. One lie leads to another and slowly
law becomes an instrument of suppression. Most likely every reader can
compose easily another list from what he knows. The issue, it turns out,
is not whether we are living in a system of lies, as I point out, but
rather what to do about it. How to transform this nation so that it
complies with her reason of existence and fulfills her mission, to be a
nation built on truth and with it a champion of freedom in the world.
Truth should be the battle cry of all
Christians. Where are they? Why are there only so few who put their
existence on the line and fight? Why is there silence from the pulpits of
all denominations? Never in my life as here in America have I met so many
people who privately and publicly tell you that they love Jesus. But when
I look at the country on the brink of the abyss of institutionalized
godlessness, I ask myself, how they do it. Loving Jesus means doing the
will of his father, walking in his footsteps means being a messenger of
truth like Jesus. Since the country is ideologically closer to Nazi
Germany (which I know both from experience) than to the Founding Fathers,
then there must be something wrong with the Christians as was, and
unfortunately still is, the case in Germany. Could it be that it is
because of the small lies of millions of churchgoers and their lack of
willingness to sacrifice and fight so that the nation is built on truth? I
challenge any reader to prove that doing this is not constitutional.
